Town Hall and Diocese plan to build a new church in Sabinillas

-

The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, has held an institutional meeting at municipal offices with the local parish priest, José Antonio Melgar, and the legal adviser of the Diocese of Málaga, Javier Arcas. Municipal technical staff, including an architect and a legal adviser, also took part in the meeting, with the aim of addressing the legal and technical aspects of the future project and the construction of a new church for Sabinillas.

According to information provided by the Town Hall itself, the initiative involves building a new church in Sabinillas while keeping the current one as part of the local heritage. The project is considered necessary because of population growth, which means that on many occasions numerous worshippers cannot get inside the parish church due to lack of capacity.

Pending more detailed information, the project is presented as a statement of intent that has yet to be developed, while awaiting confirmation of the steps needed to make it a reality.
