Manilva will once again celebrate one of the most deeply rooted events in its festive calendar on 9 and 10 May, the dates on which this year’s traditional Romería de Manilva 2026 will be held. As usual, the event will take place in the natural surroundings of the hermitage of San Adolfo, next to the well-known Baños de la Hedionda, a spot that brings together large numbers of residents and visitors every year.
The romería, dedicated to Our Lady of Fátima, is organised by the Culture department of Manilva Town Hall, headed by Eva Galindo, in collaboration with the Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores y Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, as well as the parish of Santa Ana.
During the weekend, the programme will combine religious ceremonies with leisure activities for all audiences. The most notable moments include the procession on foot carrying the image, the sung mass in honour of the Virgin and the traditional floral offering, in which the municipality’s horse riders’ association takes an active part.
But beyond devotion, the romería will once again be a place for socialising and celebration. There will be live music, as well as the tasting of the typical food that characterises this kind of popular gathering, where families and groups of friends spend days together in the open air.
As in previous years, in the days beforehand work will be carried out to prepare the site, to ensure that everything is ready and in the best possible condition to welcome those attending.
