Following the online meeting held a few days ago with the developers who are upgrading, ahead of their subsequent release onto the market, the vandalised homes in the upper part of Martagina, the town planning councillor Marcos Ruiz, accompanied by the mayor of the town Mario Jiménez, wanted to visit the area to check the progress of the main access road leading to the upper part of this sector known as «Pequeño Oasis», where there are some 500 homes that are being left in a very attractive condition for those who decide to choose Manilva to live in or to enjoy as a second home.

The aim of the town planning councillor is none other than, as well as resolving the issue of the homes that were abandoned and vandalised after the last crisis, presenting a regrettable image of our town, to ensure likewise that the access routes are suitable for all residents of the municipality.

That being so, and after many meetings, work is already under way on the old Martagina track, which, once the work is finished, will become, as the head of the department explained, a large straight avenue with four lanes along almost its entire length, which will make it easier to reach all the homes built in the developable land sectors through which the current track runs.

The agreement reached includes the transfer of the land that will allow the bends to be eliminated along with the difficulties presented by the current route, which have caused more than one accident in the past.

The creation of this new road, comfortable and spacious, represents a great step forward in the process of building a municipality with good infrastructure, increasing the value of all the sectors involved, since the central section is being carried out at zero cost to the municipal coffers, thanks to the agreement reached with the developers, who are covering the cost of this work.

The works being carried out are taking into account the expected population, with care given to environmental, aesthetic and economic aspects.

Therefore, as the councillor explained, this area will have a wide and comfortable road, with parking and a roundabout.
Ruiz said that the budget to be invested in ALU-3B is estimated to be between 600,000 and 700,000 euros.

A further 1.6 million euros will go on the sewerage and water supply network and 2.3 million € on the urban development works.

The agreement also includes the Town Hall’s commitment to incorporate planning rules that guarantee the impossibility of the formation of architectural screens that would overshadow the beauty of the surroundings through which the Martagina road runs.
