The town’s mayor has announced the news in a statement confirming the positive response to his request of 18 January for a new mass screening in the municipality. This new operation will take place in the Plaza de los Maestros in Sabinillas on Wednesday 27 January. A mobile unit from the Junta de Andalucía will travel to the site.
A total of up to 500 people will be summoned by SMS. They will be selected by the Junta de Andalucía from among those registered at the Sabinillas and Manilva health centres, which represents almost 3% of the current population. The test will be an antigen test, it will be free of charge and voluntary, and results will be provided in approximately 15 minutes. The mayor calls for responsibility and urges everyone who is summoned to attend and take the test, so that figures in our municipality can be kept under control.
Manilva will not be the only municipality in Málaga to repeat the screening. Ronda, Arriate, Villanueva del Trabuco and El Borge will also repeat it in the coming days.
We recall that on 25 November the first screening in our municipality was carried out, in which 457 people were summoned for an antigen test, with results given the same morning. Although it was announced that all the tests carried out had been negative, participation figures were never made public, as has been done in other municipalities.
