The lifeguard and rescue service, which has watched over the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors along the 8 kilometres of our coastline throughout the summer, has produced a report on its operations.

This detailed review sets out the figures for interventions during the 2021 beach campaign:

The 1,251 operations meant a daily average of 12, so the professionals of the local company SOCOSOL have fully carried out their duties.

It should be remembered that the Manilva authorities, through the Beaches department led by Eva Galindo, have carried out a very ambitious plan with a team that included three medical staff, two emergency technicians and a nursing assistant.

In addition, there was a large lifeguard team made up of 14 members, a coordinator and a group leader, as well as assisted bathing support staff.

Our lifeguards have had at their disposal 12 towers, a boat with a skipper and lifeguard to watch over the entire coast, an ambulance, a jet ski, two quads and a buggy. The equipment also includes two defibrillators and oxygen therapy, as well as rescue reels to enable them to leave areas with heavy swell.
