The Fisheries councillor, Laura López, and councillor Diego José Jiménez have held an important meeting with representatives of Marinas del Mediterráneo, the company that manages the Puerto de la Duquesa, and with the municipality’s fishermen.
The meeting led to significant agreements, much needed for years, which offer stability to the fishing sector.
Among the most notable is a considerable reduction in the price of berths for the boats, which had become a stumbling block.
These residents of our town thanked the Government Team for its willingness to offer solutions to the problems of the trade, stressing that such a productive meeting, with all three parties involved, had never been held before.
According to the councillor: «the fundamental aim of these improvements is to ensure good communication between the Town Hall, Marinas and fishermen», she concluded.
