The Infrastructure and Works councillor at Manilva Town Hall, Diego José Jiménez, visited the A-377 road linking Manilva and Sabinillas today, where work is under way to renew the lighting along this route.
The work is important, given that this is a regularly busy area and that the change will improve safety.
Also, as the councillor pointed out, the new lamps considerably reduce light pollution, as they release less CO2 into the environment.
The municipal investment amounts to 50,000 €, although it will mean an annual saving of 6,400 € on the electricity bill, plus a further 1,000 € in maintenance, so the investment will be paid off in a little over six and a half years, as Jiménez explained.
In this way, this busy stretch of road will be in perfect condition, fulfilling three key aims: savings for the municipal coffers, care for our surroundings and safety for residents.
