The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the councillor for the Housing department, Diego José Jiménez, together with the Manager of Geuma, Oliver Roales, held an important online meeting with Carmen Casero, Government Delegate of the Junta de Andalucía.
On the table was a matter of vital importance for more than 100 families in our municipality: the refurbishment of the VPO (subsidised) homes on calle Pozo de Rey in Manilva and calle Córdoba in Sabinillas.
The mayor’s office and the housing department have sufficient funds to take charge of this refurbishment work, which would significantly improve the quality of life of these residents.
The mayor highlighted the good relations between the Town Hall and supra-municipal bodies such as the Junta. He also said the Town Hall is waiting for this body to give the green light to the tendering of the work.
For his part, Diego José Jiménez said that this is a legal issue and that the best way to carry out this much-needed refurbishment work on these 100 homes is being studied.
The municipal officials thanked the Government Delegate of the Junta for her good rapport and willingness to try to speed up the start of this work, which is so necessary for these residents of the municipality.
