Manilva Town Hall has opened the registration period to take part in the traditional contest to select the Queens, Ladies and Misters of the August Fair 2026.
According to the official announcement approved by Mayoral Decree of 9 March 2026, residents on the municipal registration (padrón) in Manilva who meet the age requirements set out in the rules may take part in the process.
The contest will have two categories, children’s and youth. Children born in 2016 may take part in the children’s category, while young people born between 2003 and 2008 may enter the youth category.
The registration period will remain open from 12 March until 8 April at 15:00. Applications must be submitted to the Fiestas department of Manilva Town Hall, located at calle Mar nº 34, accompanied by a photocopy of the DNI (national identity card) and, in the case of minors, authorisation from their parents or legal guardians.
The fair’s representatives will be selected on 11 April at a gala organised by the council. In the youth category, a jury appointed by the Fiestas department will assess the aptitudes and qualities of the candidates, while in the children’s category the selection will be made by public draw among the registered participants.
In each category, one Queen and four Ladies will be chosen, as well as one Mister and four male finalists, who will represent Manilva at the official events of the August Fair 2026.
As for the prizes, the Queens and Ladies will receive flamenco dresses, while the Misters and finalists will receive suits, which they must wear at the opening of the fair and at the official events to which they are invited by the Town Hall.
The full rules of the contest can be consulted on the electronic office of Manilva Town Hall, which gives full details on participation, requirements and how the contest will be run.
