The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, accompanied by the Manager and the municipal architect, travelled to Málaga to discuss the regeneration of the Castillo beaches in person.

At this meeting, held at the Demarcación de Costas (Coastal Authority), the Town Hall handed over the project it has drawn up so that it can be included in the coastal defence strategy drawn up by the central government.

This municipal document, prepared meticulously and meeting all the requirements set by the Consejería and the Ministry of the Environment, is expected to be the definitive one for tackling this problem in the Castillo area.

According to the Manilva mayor: «we are prepared to cover the cost of the works to regenerate the Castillo beaches, but we need to be granted the relevant authorisations, which are what is delaying this matter».

Jiménez went on: «we have already shown that we take on responsibilities that are not ours, such as the emergency health service, road maintenance or work in the schools. We will therefore continue in our commitment to offering Castillo the best infrastructure», he concluded.
