Real Betis beat Unicaja in the final

This Sunday, 18 May, the Andalusian Club Championship in the Under-14 Boys category, held at the Pabellón Las Viñas in Manilva, came to a close. Real Betis Baloncesto were crowned regional champions after beating Unicaja Andalucía, the reigning CADEBA champions, 69-61 in an exciting final.

The decisive match was a repeat of last season’s final and did not disappoint. From the first minute, the game was played at maximum intensity, with the Seville side leading the scoreboard for much of the time, although always by narrow margins. On this occasion, Real Betis kept their composure in the key minutes, showing solidity and determination to take the title.

The day began at 10:30 with the match for third and fourth place, in which CB Qalat won the bronze medal after a convincing victory over Fundación CB Granada, who finished third in the previous edition, by 71-51. The Seville side put in a very solid performance, setting the pace of the game from the start and leaving their opponents without options.

The final, held at 12:30, offered a spectacle full of talent, commitment and emotion. Both teams showed why they reached the last day of the tournament, but it was Real Betis Baloncesto who capitalised on their chances and closed out the game with a deserved victory that establishes them as the new Andalusian champions in the Under-14 boys category.

With this title, the Betis side have won three golds this season in youth categories, consolidating their position as one of the leading names in Andalusian youth basketball. The atmosphere at the Pabellón Las Viñas was exceptional, with a large crowd that shared in every play, reflecting the passion for youth basketball in our town. In addition, all the matches could be followed live on FAB TV, the official streaming platform of the Andalusian Basketball Federation.

Present at the prize-giving ceremony were Mr Rogelio Pascual, Sports councillor at Manilva Town Hall; Mr Marcos Ruiz, Infrastructure and Public Works councillor; Mr Alejandro Medina, Area Director; and Mr Adolfo Magrañal, FAB delegate in Cádiz.

The Andalusian Basketball Federation has congratulated all the participating teams on the very high level shown throughout the competition and thanked the municipality of Manilva for its excellent hospitality and collaboration in organising this championship.
