Primary schools and secondary schools will remain closed this Thursday across the whole province of Málaga.
For the second consecutive day, in-person teaching will be suspended in all schools as a result of the DANA (a cut-off low, a type of severe weather system). Although the phenomenon has not been particularly noticeable in Manilva, in other parts of the province conditions have been worse than initially expected.
This was announced by Antonio Sanz, the regional government’s Minister for the Presidency, who is in charge of the operation, during a press conference held at the Emergency Coordination Centre at the PTA.
During his address, Sanz highlighted the severity with which the storm is hitting the province and warned of more difficult moments to come: «The situation is one of greater alert and more extreme risk than yesterday because there is no time for the water to drain. It is better to speak plainly because there are still many difficult hours ahead. The situation is exceeding the forecasts that had been made»
