Manilva Town Hall, through the Mayor’s Office and Urban Planning departments, has sent a personalised letter to each of the 140 residents whose homes border the Colonia Infantil in Sabinillas.
The first is an official notification from the Urban Planning Office, whose delegated councillor for the area is Marcos Ruiz, and the other is signed by the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, explaining in detail the process under way.
These notifications give residents a hearing and a period in which to submit suggestions on the preliminary document of the Internal Reform Plan for Implementation Unit SA-3 «Colonia Infantil».
The main aim of this urban planning instrument, promoted by the Town Hall, is to open up the Colonia site to the municipality, obtaining the connecting roads between Sabinillas and the Puerto de la Duquesa and the northern area of that district, as well as the corresponding open areas and public car parking zone.
For the Governing Team, it is essential to serve the general interest through the exercise of the public function of urban planning, in order to achieve a renewed municipality and improve residents’ quality of life.
The project, in addition to the development of the site and its connection with the surrounding area, will make getting around easier and increase green areas and pedestrian spaces, all without altering or affecting the status of any of the homes or premises in the surrounding area.
In this way, both the mayor and the councillor wish to hear the opinions and contributions of their neighbours, as the administrative process is long and complex.
