This morning the new vehicles that will carry out cleaning work across our municipality were presented to the municipal authorities.

This is another step in fulfilling the contract the Town Hall has signed with the company FCC and the UTE Relima, in an effort to give our municipality the best possible appearance.

The town’s mayor, Mario Jiménez, said that cleanliness is one of the main objectives of this term of office for the governing team, with an investment of 2 million euros a year. The mayor added that the town will go further, and this summer the service will be reinforced with a fifth bin for organic waste.

The first deputy mayor, Diego José Jiménez, said that this investment was very important for Manilva, as was the change in the cleaning model. He also said that the contract has been gradually implemented over recent months and that the municipality is now ready, in terms of cleaning, to face the summer.

For her part, the councillor responsible for this area, Paqui López, listed the new machinery that will be available, including 2 refuse lorries, 1 bin washer, 1 street-washing lorry, 1 new lorry for bulky items with a built-in crane, 3 street sweepers and 2 pressure washers. López, like the mayor, referred to the introduction of the fifth bin, which will bring to the municipality a new lorry and a new pressure washer.

Both the town’s mayor, Mario Jiménez, and the cleaning councillor, Paqui López, are aware of the need to move towards an ever cleaner town, although this will also require the commitment and support of residents, since the objective so keenly pursued by this governing team can only be achieved by everyone working together. For this reason, both municipal officials also stressed the need to use the recycling centre, located in the industrial estate.

This morning the scene spoke for itself, as the new machinery could be seen alongside all the duly qualified staff who will be operating it.
