The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the Urban Planning councillor, Marcos Ruiz, have received the new Urban Planning Manager, Luis Oliver Roales Buján, for a short formal ceremony to sign the contract.
In addition, coinciding with the GEUMA Council meeting held this morning in the council chamber, the new manager has already taken an active part. In addition to the municipal officials mentioned above, the meeting was attended by the councillors of the governing team Diego José Jiménez, Francisco Miguel Álvarez and Eva Galindo, as well as Agustín Vargas, of Izquierda Unida, who welcomed this new appointment, which aims to strengthen the Urban Planning department.
A graduate in Law, Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology, and a lecturer in Constitutional Law at the UMA and Administrative Law at the UNED, he has an extensive professional career which will undoubtedly help to raise the quality of local urban planning.
It should be remembered that achievable goals have been set, with citizen participation and bringing the administration closer to residents standing out.
Projects worth highlighting include the recovery of the land surrounding the centre of Manilva, addressing the situation of abandoned or unfinished housing developments, and allocating municipal resources to the maintenance and upkeep of roads and green areas. Another aim is to defend residents’ interests and local autonomy where urban planning regulations have been infringed by the Costas boundary demarcations.
In addition, as mentioned, the aim is to improve the mechanisms for public involvement and participation in urban planning and environmental matters, through the introduction of thematic working groups for deliberation and debate.
The revision of the PGOU de Manilva, the financing of public works, the promotion of productive uses of rural land through declarations of local public interest, speeding up the processing of administrative procedures and drawing up the International Archaeological Park Project in Alcorrín are added to these objectives.
