Colegio Maicandil has a renewed and cheerful look thanks to the large-scale murals that now decorate it.
The initiative came from the school itself and its AMPA (parents’ association), with the collaboration of the Education department of Manilva Town Hall.
The external mural, located on the street leading to the school entrance, covers 160 square metres, while the interior one, right at the entrance to the building, covers 40 square metres.
The head teacher of Maicandil, Maite Díez, said she was very happy with the school’s new look, which has been very well received by the pupils.
The councillor for Education, Daniel Muñoz, and the area director, Alejandro Medina, also visited the finished artwork. Both have supported the initiative throughout, as they do with those that come from the other schools in the municipality.
Both murals were created by the artist «Izas Azulpatio», and as can be seen, the theme centres on full-colour nature motifs.
