This morning the president of the Association of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol, José Antonio Mena, visited Manilva to meet the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, in order to finalise a project that will be carried out jointly in the town. Also present were the councillors for Infrastructure and Works, Diego José Jiménez, for Urban Planning, Marcos Ruiz, and for Institutional Relations, Francisco Miguel Álvarez.

The project is a Multipurpose Centre to be located in the Puerta del Mar de Sabinillas building, which will provide the area with improved services, such as a sports room, the food bank and the youth centre.

The mayor highlighted that, in addition to the €365,459.85 contributed by the supra-municipal body under the Joint Investment Plan, €300,000 from the municipal budget will be added to carry out this hugely important project for residents.

The president of the Association of Municipalities thanked the mayor of Manilva for the welcome, adding that once the project has been finalised, it will have to be passed to the association for tendering.

Funding of this kind is always welcome, as any contribution from external bodies that helps to improve infrastructure, strengthen services for residents and contribute to the progress of our town will be greatly appreciated.
