New call for 4 new Local Police officers

-

The Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE, Spain’s official state gazette) has published the call for four new Local Police posts at Manilva Town Hall, officially opening the period for applicants to submit their applications.

According to the resolution signed by the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, the application period will be 20 working days, starting from the day after publication in the BOE.

The rules governing this call were previously published in the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Málaga (BOP, the provincial official gazette) number 32, of 17 February 2026, and an extract has also been published in the Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA, the Andalusian regional official gazette) number 42, of 3 March 2026.

The posts belong to the Administración Especial scale, Servicios Especiales sub-scale, Local Police class, and will be filled through the open competitive examination (oposición) system.

They are in addition to the three posts announced in January

These four new posts are in addition to another three Local Police posts whose call was announced at the beginning of the year, as part of the 2024 Public Employment Offer. That call also set out a selection process by open competitive examination to fill permanent civil servant posts in the Local Police force.

After passing the examination phase, applicants must complete the entry course at the Instituto de Emergencias y Seguridad Pública de Andalucía (the Andalusian Public Safety and Emergency Institute) or at an accredited school, a step required before being appointed as permanent civil servants.

Strengthening the police force

Manilva Town Hall has stated that these four new posts form part of the municipal plan to strengthen the Local Police force, as part of the commitment to call up to fifteen posts during the term of office in order to improve safety and service to residents.
