The prestigious, award-winning National Geographic (Disney) has expressed an interest in filming the archaeological site of Castillejos de Alcorrín.

A 44-minute audiovisual piece on the Tartessos civilisation will be distributed in Spain and then internationally during 2022.

It is worth recalling that Fernando Wulff Alonso, Professor of Ancient History at the University of Málaga, wrote of the Alcorrín site that it «is of such importance that it upsets any study on the origins of history in the south of the peninsula, and also any study on the subject of Tartessos».

For this reason, National Geographic Disney is interested in telling the story of this civilisation, its origins and its socio-economic structure. The programme will cover the sites that have been found and the current excavations, the treasures and the warrior stelae.

The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the Culture department councillor, Alba Jiménez, welcome this type of broadcast because it takes the name of our town to every corner of the world and boosts cultural tourism, which is one of the main objectives of the governing team.
