The municipal councillor for the Environment department, Laura López, announced this morning that the meadows of the Reserva Ecológica Playas de Manilva are being cleaned in order to protect the species and contribute to the good conservation of the area, following the large amount of rubbish washed up by the sea during the latest easterly storms.
The clean-up, which is being carried out by hand and for which a local company has been hired, will take place between the Arroyo del Indiano and Tubalitas.
According to López, it is a priority for the department she heads that this area of special environmental protection is in perfect condition and that the native species growing in this area are in no way harmed.
