Manilva Town Hall buys the F.C. Barcelona bus

-

Manilva Town Hall has acquired the bus used by Fútbol Club Barcelona to celebrate its last Champions League win of the 2014/2015 season; a vehicle more than 7 years old but with very few kilometres on the clock, and in very good condition as it has been kept in the car parks of the Camp Nou itself.

According to the current president of the club, Joan Laporta, «it is a shame to part with this vehicle, which has been a symbol for the team over all these years and has left us with very fond memories, but I am sure that this Andalusian town hall will know how to make the most of it and it will be a good attraction for all the fans the club has in the south».

The Urbis-brand vehicle is 12 metres long and has 82 seats spread over its two decks, 38 on the lower deck and 44 on the upper deck, which is open-air.

It should be remembered that Manilva Town Hall has been working for more than three years on a set of specifications for the purchase of vehicles of this type. However, as this operation is an auction, it is considered a special expense and the administrative procedure is simplified. Faced with the need to acquire a bus, the Town Hall did not hesitate to bid in the auction, winning it for €144,000. It has not so far been made public whether the intention is to paint it white and adapt it as an urban bus for local commuter services, or whether, on the contrary, it plans to introduce a tourist vehicle to visit the different parts of the municipality.

As the vehicle has all its documentation up to date, all that remains is to arrange its transfer to Manilva, and it is very likely that in a few days we will be able to see this new acquisition on the streets of the municipality.
