The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the first deputy mayor, Diego José Jiménez, travelled to the Guardia Civil Directorate General in Madrid for an important meeting with the force’s General Chief, José Manuel Santiago Marín.
The local leaders discussed security in our municipality and presented their main request, which is simply that the barracks be recognised as a main post.

The Guardia Civil’s commitment, as Santiago himself stated, is to provide the area with reinforcements in both personnel and infrastructure, which would significantly improve the response to residents in terms of security.

The municipal representatives, during their agenda alongside Fitur, expressed satisfaction with the conclusions reached and, above all, with the willingness shown and the recognition that Manilva deserves and needs these funds from beyond the municipal level.

There is no specific date, but it is expected that by the end of the year the relevant procedures and the necessary organisation will have been completed to achieve this objective, which will improve the quality of life and wellbeing of our residents.
