The day included the traditional Mass at the Iglesia de Santa Ana and the official ceremony presenting medals and commendations at the CIVIMA.
Manilva marked the feast day of Saint Raphael the Archangel, patron saint of the Local Police, on 29 September with a day dedicated to recognising the work carried out every day by the officers serving the municipality.
The events began with the traditional Mass held at the Iglesia de Santa Ana, attended by members of the Local Police, representatives of the Municipal Corporation, Guardia Civil officers, and relatives and friends of the officers.
During the service, the absence of the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, the municipality’s highest authority for public safety, was noted. The institutional representation of the governing team was led by the first deputy mayor and current acting mayor, Juan Carlos Morejón, accompanied by members of the governing team and opposition groups.
Thanks to the security services
In his address, Morejón conveyed the governing team’s thanks for the work carried out by the Local Police in the municipality, extending this recognition to the Guardia Civil, the Fire Service and Civil Protection for their coordinated work in looking after and protecting residents.
Medals and commendations at the CIVIMA
After the religious service, the procession moved to the CIVIMA, where the official ceremony presenting medals, decorations and honourable mentions took place.
During the ceremony, outstanding actions by various officers were recognised, and the years of service of several members of the force were also honoured, in an event marked by recognition of the dedication and commitment of those who watch over safety and community life in Manilva.
The feast day of Saint Raphael the Archangel is one of the most significant dates for the Local Police, as it serves as a meeting point for officers, their families and the various institutions that collaborate on the municipality’s safety.
