The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, has contacted the Regional Ministry of Equality, Social Policy and Conciliation of the Junta de Andalucía in Málaga to offer municipal land for the construction of a care home for the elderly.

This is the preliminary step towards our municipality having a care home of this kind, with the aim of offering our older residents the best possible service and an optional point of reference where they can continue to enjoy a good quality of life.

The municipality has several plots where the care home could be located, and the aim is to agree with the technical staff of the aforementioned Regional Ministry on the most suitable site so that the project can begin as soon as possible.

According to the mayor, the intention of Manilva Town Hall «is to provide our municipality with infrastructure and services and to make use of municipal property for buildings such as the new secondary school or, in this case, a care home for our older residents».

In addition, having a facility offering this kind of care would also expand job opportunities in the area.
