A local security board meeting was held today at Manilva Town Hall. Those present included the Government Sub-delegate in Málaga, Teófilo Ruiz Municio, the mayor, Mario Jiménez, as well as the Captain, the Lieutenant and the heads of station of the regional police force.
Among the topics discussed, the Guardia Civil station in Manilva will soon be given main station status.
Mario Jiménez also highlighted that the most important events of the summer season will be reinforced by the Guardia Civil, so this year’s festivities, although different, will be safer.
Teófilo Ruiz wanted to see first-hand the reality of a municipality such as Manilva, hence the importance of his presence at this security board meeting, which he described as very fruitful.
As well as Manilva becoming a main Guardia Civil station, the meeting also addressed the renewal of the collaboration agreement with the Secretary of State for Security and the inclusion of Manilva in the programme on violence against women.
According to the data gathered, Ruiz Municio noted that Manilva’s crime rate remains below the average for the Costa del Sol and Campo de Gibraltar.
