Acting promptly and immediately, the Local Police evicted the other day the squatters who had broken into a house on calle Domínguez in the centre of Manilva. Following a call from neighbours reporting movement and noise at the house over the weekend, officers attended and restored order.
Yesterday morning, with the coordination of the Public Safety department, headed by the mayor, José Manuel Fernández, and the Public Works department, whose responsible councillor is Agustín Vargas, the front door was bricked up after the owners, who are abroad, had been contacted.
It is worth pointing out that not all cases of squatting are resolved so effectively, as on many occasions they require the presence of the Guardia Civil or the National Police, and proceedings are begun that end up in the courts.
