The Manilva Local Police force is carrying out its annual shooting practice this week.
The officers are carrying out these exercises in small groups. They help to improve safety and to correct shooting position and grip when firing a weapon.
According to the Chief Officer of the Manilva Local Police, Juan Montero, these exercises are carried out regularly at the shooting range at the Estepona Police facilities, with an instructor, and the process is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part.
The practice is carried out with the officers’ own service weapons (HK-P.30 and SIG Sauer), which are the property of Manilva Town Hall.
The officers are also updating and expanding the theoretical part, which covers areas such as new laws, decrees and legal developments, and State provisions on security.
According to the mayor of the town and councillor for Public Safety, Mario Jiménez, this type of practice is essential for the proper use of a weapon when necessary.
