The mobilisation called by the AMPAS (parent-teacher associations) of Manilva and Casares continues to gain support. Following the news published by the AMPAS, in which the associations announced that they would cover the cost of the coach to attend the protest on 22 April, and the video by our Intern on social media asking for help so that the AMPAS would not have to cover this cost, several local businesses have expressed their willingness to help, without asking for anything in return.
In the end, the company Autocares Sierra Bermeja de Casares has stepped forward to take on the transport in full, allowing families to travel to Málaga at no cost to the AMPAS.
Immediate response from the business community
According to the associations themselves, the reaction was swift after the news and the video were published, generating a wave of support among businesses in the municipality that wanted to contribute to the cause, all arguing that “it is a more than necessary issue”.
This backing in less than 24 hours highlights the involvement of the local business community in a demand that goes beyond politics and whose central focus is improving public education in the area.
Transport guaranteed at no cost to families
Thanks to this initiative, the coach from Autocares Sierra Bermeja leaving for Málaga on 22 April is now fully guaranteed, removing the financial burden that the AMPAS had decided to take on following the controversy of recent days over the Partido Popular’s complaint to the Electoral Board because the Town Hall wanted to cover the cost of the transport.
The associations stress that this gesture further strengthens the mobilisation and makes it easier for more families to take part.
A cause that unites the municipality
The call for a new secondary school in Manilva continues to gain strength, with the backing not only of the families affected, but also of various sectors of society, associations, groups and now also local and area businesses.
The AMPAS emphasise that this kind of support shows that this is a demand shared by both municipalities, focused on guaranteeing decent educational conditions for pupils.
The mobilisation goes ahead
With the transport now secured, the 22 April protest remains unchanged, becoming one of the main actions driven by families in defence of education. Those who wish to can still join the trip, which will leave next Wednesday 22 April at 08:00 and return at 14:30, after visiting the Diputación (provincial council) in Málaga and then the Regional Ministry of Education, in a thoroughly peaceful but forceful manner, to demand what has been promised for years. The show of solidarity received in recent hours reinforces the message of unity and commitment that the AMPAS have been conveying since the start of this campaign.
