Leader of a gang arrested in Manilva

-

This morning, a helicopter flew over the Don Juan and Princesa Kristina area for more than half an hour, to the astonishment of residents, who suspected that a police operation was about to take place. Officers of the Policía Nacional have reported that they have arrested the brother of ‘Tayena’, who allegedly headed a group based in the Manilva (Málaga) area and reportedly involved in vehicle theft, illegal possession of weapons and settling of scores, among other criminal activities. It should be remembered that the Ceuta drug trafficker known as ‘Tayena’ was killed by a hitman last year in Los Barrios (Cádiz).

According to police sources quoted by Europa Press, a search of a home was carried out this Thursday morning in the Urbanización La Borboleta in Manilva, with two people arrested, one of them the alleged leader of the group, who is being investigated as the alleged perpetrator of offences of handling stolen goods, causing injuries, serious threats, illegal possession of weapons and homicide.

It should be remembered that ‘Tayena’ had established his residence in the Campo de Gibraltar, allegedly at odds with another clan of drug traffickers from Ceuta, and in April last year he was shot twice as he left his home. He eventually died in the Hospital de La Línea.

Meanwhile, the Guardia Civil, given the possibility that the alleged gunman might flee towards Ceuta, stepped up surveillance in the Port of Algeciras, where he was located. He admitted the facts and said that he had thrown the weapon into the sea. The detainee was ‘El Pastilla’, the prisoner who escaped on Christmas Eve from the Alcalá-Meco prison (Madrid) and was finally arrested again in Leizpig (Germany).
