Acting responsibly and in line with the ongoing pandemic situation, the Fiestas councillor, Daniel Muñoz, has announced the definitive cancellation of the New Year festivities.

The councillor, who had everything ready to offer entertainment and a good start to the year to young people and the rest of the residents alike, regrets the situation, «but the main thing is the health of our neighbours, and with infections rising as they are, it is impossible to bring so many people together in two enclosed venues», he said.

It is worth remembering that the Fiestas department, in collaboration with the 2nd year Bachillerato students’ trip, had organised an event with live performances in the Plaza Martín Carpena. At the same time, the same department, in collaboration with Unión Manilva, had also planned a New Year celebration in the multi-purpose sports hall.

Muñoz hopes that next year the celebrations can go ahead without any setbacks, and urges residents to be cautious during the festive period.
