Widespread sadness following the removal, a few days ago, of the inclusive swing from the Parque de La Colonia. The damage caused by several minors, who did not understand its purpose, was the reason for its removal: part of the backrest was broken off and the safety fastening was smashed, leaving the swing in a considerably dangerous state and beyond repair, unlike on other occasions when it had been fixed, despite the short time it had been in use.
This newsroom contacted the Parks department, headed by Francisco Becerra, who with great sadness gave us the details of what had happened, though without losing any of his spirit or his intention to keep working to make all the parks in the municipality calm, safe and well-maintained places. He also told us of his intention to replace this swing as soon as the new budgets allow. For the time being, a swing with a special seat for the youngest children has been installed.
Until now, three parks in the whole municipality had installed these inclusive swings, which are approved and certified under the European safety standard EN 1176-2. The ones remaining are therefore those at Villa Matilde in Sabinillas and the Parque de Las Viñas in Manilva, to which is added the special swing in the Parque de El Duque.
