Manilva Town Hall has taken the first step towards significantly improving waste collection, treatment and waste awareness through the cleaning service.
To this end, envelopes A and B have been opened, the latter containing the criteria whose scoring depends on a value judgement, and will then be handed to the municipal technicians for assessment.

The procedure, as required by law, will determine the company that, together with the Cleaning department, will ensure that the municipality of Manilva is an exceptionally clean place and presents the best possible image.

It is worth remembering that this commitment by the governing team will provide the material, personnel and technical resources. Representing the local government were the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, the Cleaning councillor, Paqui López, and councillors Diego José Jiménez and Manolo Gil, accompanied by municipal technicians.

The contract file covers urban waste collection, street cleaning and waste treatment.

This support will cover the collection, transport and delivery of household waste, collection of waste from street markets, dead animals, bulky items, illegal dumping, and waste at fairs and festivals. It will also cover the selective organic fraction, in line with current regulatory and social requirements.

As for street cleaning, this involves work on roadways, green areas, public spaces, pedestrian areas, pavements and kerbs across all public roads. This includes removing stains, oils, grease, wax and chewing gum, among other things, as well as watering, scrubbing and washing down public roads.

Work will also be carried out in the areas around all the containers located on public roads and beaches for the Urban Solid Waste Collection service.

Emergency cleaning will be carried out in exceptional situations such as debris washed down by rain, strong winds, etc.

The service will also cover the playgrounds of public schools, fixed outdoor sports facilities (outdoor gym equipment) and children’s play areas located in urban public spaces and on beaches.

There will be an on-call service able to intervene in emergencies or carry out immediate action in various situations, 365 days a year and available 24 hours a day.

Awareness campaigns, advertising and communication activities will also be carried out in general.

This very comprehensive reinforcement is considered essential given the size of the population in our municipality and the unusual layout of its residential areas, to which must be added the dozens of housing developments and communal areas.
