The Infrastructure and Works department of Manilva Town Hall is continuing its programme of work in the municipality.

On this occasion, according to the head of the department, Diego José Jiménez, the improvements will focus on the Las Gaviotas promenade and the steps that connect with the green corridor and lead to the Puerto de la Duquesa.

An irrigation system, much needed for the planters in this spot, will be installed along the promenade, which will notably improve their upkeep during the summer season. In addition, the heads of the street lamps have been replaced, so the lighting will be more efficient.

Meanwhile, the steps linking the port and the green corridor, a busy area that provides access to the port facilities, will see a notable improvement in both appearance and accessibility, and will present an image more in keeping with the present day, as they are currently in a state of disrepair.

For Jiménez, this work is a significant priority as it is a key tourist spot, which must look its best.

It is also worth highlighting that the tendering of this series of works helps to boost the local economy, as they are being carried out by companies from the municipality.
