The environment councillor of Manilva Town Hall, Laura López, visited the Reserva Ecológica Playas de Manilva this morning to monitor the second phase of the works being carried out on the stretch between the Garito de Juan and the Arroyo Martagina.
The work is being carried out in several phases. The first involved bringing sterile aggregate to the area. The second, which is currently under way, involves compacting this material with a roller. A third phase will follow after the summer season, when, after the first rains, this 900-metre stretch will be compacted again.
As the councillor explained, the work was greatly needed because of the poor state of the area, with a large number of potholes that made it difficult for both cyclists and pedestrians to get through, and which was made worse by the rain, with large puddles forming in an area heavily used by residents and visitors.
