The Parks and Gardens department continues to work on improving the play areas in all of the children’s playgrounds. A few months ago, work was completed on the one in Las Viñas, in plaza Martín Carpena, La Colonia, La Horca and El Huerto, among others, and work is now under way on the children’s playground in Castillo de la Duquesa.

According to the councillor responsible for the department, the refurbishment will be complete, covering the flooring as well as the games and play equipment for the youngest children, who will enjoy facilities that will have a certificate of approval, in compliance with the regulations of the Junta de Andalucía.

Supervising the work in Castillo were, in addition to Francisco Becerra, the town’s mayor, Mario Jiménez, and the councillor for Infrastructure and Works, Diego José Jiménez.

Work is also under way on the playground in the Corredor Verde between Castillo and Puerto de la Duquesa, and in the Noria area, and the same is planned for the rest of the playgrounds.

The aim is simply to provide our children with the best and safest facilities, taking advantage of the current closure of the playgrounds in compliance with the present restrictions.

As the municipal officials stated, the intention is to renovate all seventeen children’s playgrounds across the municipality in the short term.
