The first edition brought together hundreds of attendees, more than 20 stands and around ten experts and professionals. On 27 September, Guau Fest returns to the Jardines del Rosario in Casares Costa with a second edition that aims to keep growing and welcome new participants.

After the success of its first edition, Guau Fest returns on 27 September to the Jardines del Rosario, in Casares Costa, with a day dedicated to animals, their care and responsible coexistence.

The first edition was held in 2024 as part of the «Deja Huella» campaign and brought together hundreds of people throughout the day, many of them accompanied by their dogs.
There were talks, workshops, demonstrations, activities and areas where people could ask questions and learn. The event also received coverage in various media outlets and, for a few hours, turned the Jardines del Rosario into a meeting point for animal lovers from Casares and other municipalities in the area.

Two years on, Guau Fest returns eager to grow.

A second edition with more content

On 27 September the stands, workshops, talks and practical activities will return, led by professionals and experts.
The talks will cover issues that are part of everyday life for those who have animals at home: feeding, behaviour, training, welfare, regulations, picking up dog waste and coexistence in public spaces.

In addition, the day will include more creative and fun activities, among them a canine illustration workshop and a canine baking workshop, where we will learn to prepare recipes specially designed for our dogs.
And although dogs and cats will be the main stars, we also want to talk about other animals and species with which we share our surroundings and learn what to do when we come across them.

The Canine Unit of La Línea Local Police will be at Guau Fest

One of the activities of this second edition will be the participation of the Canine Unit of La Línea Local Police. Their handlers will show the public how they work with their dogs, how they train and some of the duties they carry out.
It will be an opportunity to see them up close, learn about their work and discover everything that lies behind these teams.
It is also a celebration

Because Guau Fest was created to raise awareness, but also to enjoy a good day out.

Throughout the day there will be stands, workshops, activities, food and drink and various options to enjoy as a family and, of course, with our dogs. These include special activities such as the canine illustration workshop and the canine baking workshop.

The «Casares Dog Lovers» gifts will also return for attendees.

Admission will be free.

This year Guau Fest reaches older people. One of the new features is that this year Guau Fest will not be limited to the day of 27 September. There will also be activities for Madurez Activa and the Escuela Neurocognitiva, focusing especially on the bond between people and animals, the company they provide, the memories they awaken and the role they can play in our daily lives.

Topics such as care, feeding, behaviour, adoption, abandonment, identification and what to do when we find an animal in need of help will be covered.
