The economic crisis caused by the coronavirus and the need to reactivate commerce in our municipality have led the governing team to take to a council meeting the allocation of a budget item of €200,000 for a line of grants for entrepreneurs who submit a business plan and are selected.
This important matter was voted in favour by the governing team at the extraordinary council meeting held this morning.
The grants may be awarded to entrepreneurs who undertake, if they receive the subsidy, to start up the business and register as self-employed workers, mutualistas or in the corporate form of micro-enterprises.
The subsidy will therefore be aimed at new self-employed workers and businesses that began trading after 1 September 2021 or that undertake to begin within two months of the decision to award the grant.
The beneficiary must undertake to establish the tax address of the business in the municipality of Manilva, as well as the workplace for which the grant is requested.
The grant will be €5,000 per business, and may rise to €7,000 if the entrepreneur is aged between 18 and 35 or between 50 and 65, and is located in an area of the municipality considered to be deprived, in accordance with the definition included in these rules.
To assess the applications received, a scoring committee will be created. Its scoring system, like all the details of the rules, will be made public in the local media in due time and form so that everyone who wishes to can submit an application.
It is worth recalling that last year the governing team allocated another significant sum of €200,000, from which 241 local businesses and self-employed workers benefited, helping the economy of hundreds of families in the municipality.
