The Guardia Civil has arrested in Sabinillas an individual who had been a fugitive from justice since 2016. The investigation began in January this year, when it emerged that this person, who was the subject of multiple search, arrest and imprisonment warrants, might be living in Manilva. To evade capture, he was suspected of using his brother’s identity, according to a statement from the Guardia Civil.
The man, who constantly changed address as a precaution to avoid being found, had two prison sentences for drug trafficking, one of which included a fine of four million euros. There were also six search and arrest warrants in force since 2016 for gender-based violence offences.
After carrying out various enquiries, the individual was eventually located at a new residence in San Luis de Sabinillas, where he was arrested and brought before the judicial authority, which ordered his imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the Judicial Police team in Estepona and the Manilva Post of the Marbella Company of the Guardia Civil.
