More than 600 pupils have taken part in a new activity, the Intercentros league, the first round of which took place at Colegio San Luis.
It should be recalled that the town’s schools, Maicandil, San Luis and Pablo Picasso, together with the Education department, headed by Daniel Muñoz, have created the league.
This new sporting and educational project aims to promote healthy living habits, coexistence among peers, and social and civic values, as well as to create a bond between the students ahead of their next academic stage in secondary school.
The League has focused on alternative and lesser-known sports such as Datchball and Colpbol.
Datchball is a new sport born in schools and, as such, comes from the conviction that participation and competition should not be two such distant paths. Datchball is characterised by a unique strength and dynamism, a sport that generates motivation and a desire to take part in everyone who plays it, allowing us to work on a series of aspects from a comprehensive view of the player.
Colpbol is a team game that encourages the greatest possible participation of all players, whatever their physical and motor level and their circumstances; that reduces individual differences to a minimum and demands essential collaboration and collective communication to achieve the final aim of the game, the goal; in other words, a true and genuine team game.
The next round will be held on 30 March at Pablo Picasso school in Manilva.
