Endesa has completed the construction of a new substation in the municipality, in which it has invested more than five million euros and which will improve the electricity supply to 20,000 customers.
The infrastructure, which features the latest technology and has been in service since the beginning of August, is located in the area known as Alcorrín.
The new Manilva substation has a 66 to 20 kilovolt transformer with a capacity of 20 MVA, and it was built during the COVID-19 health crisis, Endesa said in a statement. «This new substation is essential for the development of an area with great tourism potential such as the Costa del Sol», they added.
This new electricity infrastructure joins a series of other works that Endesa is carrying out in the province of Málaga and which will represent an investment of approximately 15 million euros over the coming months. These investments include the construction of three new substations: in Benahavís, Fuengirola and Málaga city, and the upgrading and refurbishment of two substations in Marbella.
