This newsroom has had access to an interview with Emilio López Berenguer, who was mayor of Manilva for 8 years and a family doctor in the town for 24 years. The recent leader of the ASM has decided to announce this decision and formally join the town’s new Partido Popular, with the sole aim, according to the interview, of contributing all his experience from the grassroots with complete humility and hard work.
According to Berenguer: «We need a 180-degree turn in municipal management and in future projects. In my opinion, we are stuck in the development and progress of the municipality. The most recent governments have concerned themselves a great deal with festivals and celebrations and very little with the economic and social growth of residents.»
But the interview does not end there. With 8 months to go until the municipal elections, López openly asks in it for the vote of all ASM members, supporters and voters, urging them to join this project put forward by the local Partido Popular.
