The range of food retailers in the municipality is growing with the opening on Friday 23 July at 9:00 of a new supermarket from the «El Jamón» chain, located on the A377 road, Km 0.2 (the former Supersol on the Manilva road). It offers a wide variety of multi-brand products and three ranges belonging to the IFA group, Eliges, Unnia and Sabe, with the aim of satisfying all types of customers by keeping prices suited to every household.

This establishment was initially acquired by Carrefour, but it has finally passed, along with 28 other supermarkets across Andalusia, to Supermercados El Jamón, a 100% Andalusian company based in Lepe (Huelva). Founded in 1966, it has gradually grown to the 257 stores it has today and employs a workforce of approximately 3,500 people.

The Sabinillas supermarket covers around 1,000 square metres and will offer butcher’s and delicatessen services, adding as a novelty a greengrocer’s and a fishmonger’s. The existing staff will be kept on and the workforce expanded to 18 people in order to offer customer service of the highest quality.
