The AMPA Oleaje of CEIP San Luis De Sabinillas has called, and been authorised to hold, a demonstration on Thursday 30 June, starting at the San Luis de Sabinillas school at 19:00 along the following route: Duquesa de Arcos, C/ Aurora Albornoz, Avda de Andalucía, C/Miguel Delibes and Avda de Manilva, finishing at the Tenencia de Alcaldía (district mayor’s office) of Sabinillas.
The AMPA reports that this school year there are 53 pupils with specific educational support needs; 36 of them have special educational needs, in both the infant stage (22) and the primary stage (14). These pupils require the attention of specialist teachers: therapeutic pedagogy (31 pupils) and/or hearing and language (32 pupils). Of this total, 19 children also have a Technical Professional for Social Integration (PTIS) and 11 pupils need Temporary Language Adaptation Classrooms (ATAL).
Due not only to this high number but also to the characteristics of the pupils themselves, it is not possible to adequately meet the educational and care needs of these young children, which consequently affects the educational attention given to the class as a whole.
This demonstration will be very important for the families’ struggle to obtain more resources and support for attention to diversity at the school, for a quality inclusive education. It is a battle that benefits all our children and their families, not only pupils with specific educational support needs. The call is aimed not only at the school’s families but at anyone in the municipality who wishes to contribute to this important movement. The AMPA encourages participation for the wellbeing and educational improvement of the pupils.
