The Guardia Civil, as part of ‘Operation Scronto’, has dismantled a criminal organisation dedicated to carrying out contract score-settling attacks. Five people have been arrested for belonging to a criminal organisation, robbery with violence and intimidation, serious injuries caused by firearm, drug trafficking, document forgery and handling stolen goods.
The investigation began last June following a shooting at a house in the Malaga town of Alhaurín el Grande, which two people broke into and seriously wounded one of the occupants with a firearm. He was hit by two bullets in the legs.
These men stole the safe in the house, threatening to kill the victim’s wife and daughter, the Guardia Civil said in a statement.
Following enquiries, a criminal group was located, made up of individuals of Dutch, Belgian and German nationality, who passed unnoticed as tourists and lived settled in the town of Manilva.
These individuals used false identity documents to avoid being traced and were engaged in carrying out contract score-settling attacks and drug trafficking.
Continuing with the investigation, two members of this group were located in a residential development in the town of Manilva. One of them was subject to an active search and arrest warrant issued by Interpol for other countries of the European Union.
As a result, the judicial authority was asked to authorise a search of the property used by the organisation. Three people were arrested and 12.9 kilograms of MDMA, 3.5 kilograms of hashish, cash and a luxury watch were seized.
That same day, in collaboration with the Local Police of Marbella (Malaga), two other members of the network were arrested, and cash and another luxury watch were seized.
This investigation has been led by Examining Court number 3 of Coín and carried out by officers of the Judicial Police Team of the Guardia Civil of the Coín Company, with the collaboration of the Local Police of Marbella.
