The Municipal Group of Compromiso Manilva is presenting a motion at the council meeting next Thursday, 6 June, asking the Junta de Andalucía and the Housing and Refurbishment Agency (AVRA) in Málaga to transfer responsibility for the refurbishment of the buildings on calle Córdoba in Sabinillas, specifically numbers 1, 3, 5 and 7.
The CM municipal spokesman, Mario Jiménez, stressed that “these homes are more than 40 years old and need refurbishment as soon as possible”.
Jiménez pointed out that “in the previous term of office, municipal technicians drew up the refurbishment project for these 50 social homes. We also held several meetings with the provincial housing delegation and AVRA, asking for responsibility for the refurbishment to be transferred”.
“That technical project by the municipal technicians reflected very serious problems of damp, leaks and falling cornices”, said the CM spokesman.
For all these reasons, Compromiso Manilva is also urging the council meeting to approve an allocation of 215,559 euros plus general expenses and industrial profit, to be included in the 2024 budget or else in that of 2025, to cover the refurbishment project for these VPO homes”.
