Compromiso proposes two motions for the next council meeting

-

Compromiso Manilva has this lunchtime announced the two motions it will take to the ordinary council meeting in December, to be held this Thursday at the plan, and which the rest of the political groups on the Corporation can sign up to so that they are passed unanimously.

The first of these motions asks for a budget item of €600,000 to be created in the 2025 budget for the refurbishment and upgrading of the buildings on calle Córdoba in Sabinillas, and those in Pozo del Rey in Manilva.

The CM spokesperson, Mario Jiménez, stressed that “at the June council meeting a motion from Compromiso Manilva was approved, joined by the rest of the political groups, asking the Junta and its Housing Agency (AVRA) to transfer the powers for the refurbishment of the buildings at numbers 1, 3, 5 and 7 calle Córdoba. It was approved unanimously by all the political groups on the corporation. We currently do not know what state the file is in, but we have seen no progress.”

In the case of the blocks on calle Córdoba, “there is a technical project drawn up by the municipal technical services, which cited extremely serious problems of damp, leaks and falling cornices (backed by fire brigade reports) and, above all, placed great importance on the deterioration of the building’s structure.”
“Of particular importance too is the situation of the housing development at Pozo del Rey in Manilva, which has problems with falling cornices, leaks and damp, and above all there is an urgent need to install a lift to serve the people who live there, as we are talking about people of advanced age,” the CM spokesperson said.

“It is essential that town halls, such as Manilva’s, prioritise the safety of their residents and bring themselves up to date on Civil Protection, as a swift professional response to any catastrophe can be crucial for all their residents,” said Mario Jiménez.

The second motion is for the drawing up and publication of an Emergency Plan, setting out how to deal with emergencies that occur in our municipality, in situations such as the DANA.

In its motion, Compromiso Manilva urges the governing team to give municipal priority to emergency prevention and management, providing Civil Protection with everything necessary to carry this out.
This proposal includes adjusting, identifying and updating as far as possible the areas of the municipality that are flood-prone or especially dangerous.
