Punta Chullera beach hosted the initiative last Saturday as part of the campaign ‘Mares 0,0. Cero residuos, cero plásticos’ (Zero waste, zero plastics), with the aim of raising awareness of the problem that plastics and other waste pose on the coast.
‘Mares 0,0’ is an activity that is part of the ‘málaga+viva’ programme, run by the Diputación de Málaga in collaboration with the organisations Andalimpia, Voluntarios amigos del mar and Vivir sin plástico, and it provides a meeting point for those who want to take part and those who promote activities and good practice against climate change, as Mari Carmen Ruiz, ‘málaga+viva’ technician, told us.
According to the Manilva Town Hall Environment councillor, Laura López, initiatives such as this will always be promoted by the Town Hall so that both young people and adults keep in mind the importance of looking after our natural environment.
