Following his participation in the Andalusian Under-10 Tennis Championship, young tennis player from our town Cayetano Blanco Rodríguez will take part this weekend in the prestigious «Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander» tournament.
It is a youth circuit held every year in the under-12, under-14 and under-16 categories.
Cayetano, from Manilva, will be in the draw for the under-12 category, despite being only ten years old.
The tournament, which promotes competition from an educational point of view, is held at different venues across Spain. From this Saturday 20 until 28 February it will bring together the best players of these ages at the Club Rio Grande in Seville.
More than a hundred players are taking part in this category. Cayetano’s first qualifying match will take place this Saturday in the third round of play, and his opponent will be Sirvent Martínez.
Our young neighbour is approaching the event with great enthusiasm and is keen to enjoy the experience while showing his best tennis.
From Manilva Town Hall, the mayor, Mario Jiménez, and the Sports councillor, Manolo Gil, wish Cayetano the best of luck in this prestigious tournament.
