This handover forms part of the various activities being held at the Estepona and Sabinillas centres to mark the 4th Professionals’ Week, which includes special discounts, product demonstrations and a prize draw.
BigMat Estepona-Sabinillas, the professional construction and DIY store, has handed over to Manilva’s Basketball Club, C.D. Manilva Basket Base, full kits made up of shirts, shorts and socks for the Under-13 (pre-junior) and Under-15 (cadet) categories. It is a project launched by the BigMat International Group under the slogan «Construyendo en equipo» («Building as a team»), with the aim of sponsoring amateur sport with funding of more than 900 euros per club.
The shirt handover took place yesterday at the BigMat store in Sabinillas, coinciding with the 4th edition of Professionals’ Week, an exclusive week of special discounts and product demonstrations. Those present at the event included Salvador Jiménez Baeza, manager of BigMat Estepona-Sabinillas; José Gil, vice-president of C.D. Manilva Basket Base; and some of the club’s players and their families, along with other members of the board of Manilva Basket Base (Juan Correa, Emin Tosun and José María Quirós) and of Bigmat Sabinillas (Ana Moreno and Raúl Martínez).
The manager of BigMat Estepona-Sabinillas expressed his satisfaction that Manilva’s Basketball Club had been chosen to receive these kits, «as this way we are doing our bit to support the good educational work the club carries out with its players».
BigMat Estepona-Sabinillas is a company committed to promoting healthy habits and the educational value that sport conveys to those who play it. For Jiménez Baeza, commitment to local sport is a constant for the company, as «we consider the values that sport instils in those who play it, such as team spirit, collaboration and effort, to be fundamental».
This initiative is part of the project «Construyendo en equipo», a campaign launched by the BigMat International Group to sponsor amateur sport, offering funding of more than 900 euros per club. Thanks to this initiative, more than 65 basketball clubs have received this sponsorship.
