The Manilva Town Hall has taken a further step towards significantly improving the cleaning service, with better waste collection, treatment and awareness-raising.
To this end, the envelopes containing the bids from the participating companies have been opened. Those present at the event were the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, the Cleaning councillor, Paqui López, and the first deputy mayor, Diego José Jiménez, as well as the secretary, the comptroller and municipal technicians. Representatives of the companies were among the public.
The procedure, as required by law, will determine which company, together with the Cleaning department, will ensure that the municipality of Manilva is exceptionally clean and presents the best possible image.
It should be remembered that this commitment by the governing team will provide the material, personnel and technical resources.
The contract file covers the collection of urban waste, street cleaning and waste treatment.
This support will involve the collection, transport and delivery of household waste. It will also cover the collection of waste from street markets, dead animals, bulky items, uncontrolled dumping, and waste from fairs and festivals, as well as the separate collection of organic waste, in line with current regulatory and social requirements.
As for street cleaning, this involves work on roads, green areas, public spaces, pedestrian areas, pavements and kerbs on all public roads. It includes the removal of stains, oils, grease, wax, chewing gum and other items, as well as the watering, scrubbing and hosing down of public roads.
Work will be carried out in the areas around all the containers located on public roads and beaches for the Urban Solid Waste Collection service.
Emergency cleaning will be carried out in exceptional situations such as flooding caused by rain, gales and the like.
The service will also cover the playgrounds of public schools, the fixed outdoor exercise equipment (biosaludables) and the children’s play areas located in urban public spaces and on beaches.
There will be an on-call service to respond to emergencies or carry out immediate action in a range of situations, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
In general, awareness-raising campaigns, advertising and communication activities will be carried out.
This is a very comprehensive reinforcement, considered essential given the size of the population in our municipality and the unusual layout of its towns and villages, in addition to the dozens of residential developments and communal areas.
